Project Overview: Guyana is currently undergoing significant infrastructure modernization to improve access to clean drinking water in both its developing coastal plains and remote inland communities. This project involved the installation of a new potable water trunk line and distribution network. The primary challenge was the local soil composition, which includes areas of high acidity and humidity that can lead to rapid corrosion of traditional ductile iron or galvanized steel pipes.

We were selected to provide a comprehensive range of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) piping, specifically focused on ensuring a non-toxic, durable, and flexible solution for the country’s expanding residential grid.

Our Value & Project Impact:

• Chemical Stability: Our PE100 HDPE pipes are naturally inert and resistant to the acidic soil conditions prevalent in Guyana. This ensures that the water quality remains uncontaminated from the source to the tap, meeting stringent health and safety standards.

• Adaptability to Terrain: The inherent flexibility of our piping allowed for installation in diverse topographies. It effectively absorbs ground movement and seismic shifts without fracturing, which is essential for maintaining network pressure in Guyana’s varying landscapes.

• Streamlined Installation: By providing pipes in longer coils and lightweight sections, we helped the local contractors reduce the number of required joints. This simplified the welding process and significantly lowered the potential for future leakages.

• Supporting Development Goals: The completion of this phase has improved water security for thousands of residents. Our focus on providing a 50-year service life ensures that this public investment remains viable for future generations with minimal maintenance overhead.
