Project Name :Supply of HDPE Slurry and Sand Dredging Pipeline System for Coastal Infrastructure
Project Location :Dar es Salaam and coastal mining sites, Tanzania, East Africa.

Project Overview:Tanzania’s expanding maritime and mining sectors require robust material transport solutions that can withstand high-abrasion environments. This project involved the delivery of a complete dredging pipeline system designed to transport sand and slurry from coastal excavation sites to inland processing areas.
The operational environment in Tanzania demands equipment that can handle both the corrosive nature of saltwater and the physical wear of high-velocity sand transport. We supplied a comprehensive system consisting of thick-walled HDPE dredging pipes, matched with customized pipe floats (pontons) and flexible rubber hoses to accommodate tidal movements and terrain variations.
Our Value & Project Impact
-
Engineered Abrasion Resistance: Unlike standard water pipes, the HDPE piping supplied for this project features a high molecular weight resin specifically chosen for its wear-resistance properties. This ensures a longer service life even when transporting sharp-edged sand and heavy slurries.
-
Integrated System Compatibility: Our value lay in providing a fully integrated system. We ensured that the stub ends, steel flanges, and floats were precision-matched to the HDPE pipes, simplifying the assembly process for the local workforce and reducing downtime during installation.
-
Logistical Reliability for East Africa: Shipping large-diameter pipes and bulky floats to Tanzania requires strategic container loading to optimize space and protect the integrity of the pipe ends. Our team managed the technical packing and documentation to ensure the system arrived ready for immediate deployment in the coastal heat.
-
Operational Efficiency: By utilizing lightweight yet durable HDPE instead of traditional steel pipes, the project benefited from lower fuel consumption during relocation and significantly reduced maintenance costs, as the plastic system is naturally immune to rust and marine growth.
