HDPE Double-Wall Corrugated Pipe Installation Precautions

HDPE Double-Wall Corrugated Pipe Installation Precautions

1. Site Preparation

Before installation, ensure the site is clear of debris, rocks, and sharp objects. The trench should be wide and deep enough to accommodate the pipe, allowing for proper bedding material beneath the pipe.

2. Handling and Storage

Store HDPE pipes in a cool, shaded area to prevent deformation from heat. Avoid dropping or rolling the pipes to prevent damage. When transporting, secure the pipes to avoid shifting.

3. Bedding and Backfill

Use suitable bedding material, such as sand or fine gravel, to provide a stable base for the pipe. Backfill should be free from large rocks or sharp materials that could damage the pipe. Compact the backfill gradually to avoid shifting the pipe.

4. Jointing and Alignment

Ensure proper alignment during jointing to maintain a smooth flow and prevent leaks. Use compatible fittings and adhere to manufacturer guidelines for jointing techniques.

5. Avoiding Stress

Do not impose heavy loads on the installed pipes. Ensure that heavy equipment is kept away from the installation area to prevent undue stress and deformation.
